Guide

How Complector works.

A walkthrough of everything on the dashboard, from setting up your search to reaching out to a company.

Step 1

Create your account

Sign up with your email and a password, or connect a Google or Microsoft account instead. Once you're in, you'll land on your dashboard, empty until you set your search up in the next step.

Step 2

Set your postcode and radius

Enter the postcode you want to search around, usually your office, or wherever your customers tend to be. Drag the radius slider up to 100 miles, or tick "Search the entire UK" to remove the limit entirely.

Step 3

Filter your results

Narrow things down by industry, or switch between "Newly incorporated" and "Accounts due soon" to catch companies approaching their first filing deadline, often the moment they start looking for an accountant. You can also exclude likely virtual or formation-agent addresses to keep your list focused on genuine trading addresses.

Step 4

Browse the map and register

Every matching company shows up as a pin on the map, with green pins for companies formed in the last 48 hours. Below it, the full register lists every match with distance, industry, and address. Click Directors on any row to see who's listed, their appointment date, and filing due dates. Click Export CSV to download everything currently shown.

Step 5

Save your searches as watch areas

Covering more than one territory? Save a search with its own postcode, radius, and filters as a named "watch area," and switch between them anytime from the dashboard sidebar.

Step 6

Get a daily or weekly digest

Turn on email digests from your Account settings and we'll send a summary of new matches straight to your inbox, covering your default search and every watch area, so you never have to remember to check.

Step 7

Keep your account secure

Turn on two-factor authentication from your Account settings for an extra layer of protection using an authenticator app, with one-time backup codes in case you ever lose access to it.
